Bella Kalinowsky (piano)

was born in the Ukraine. She was musicially educated in Winnista, Odessa and Kiew. In 1990, she graduated the state teaching examination with summa cum laude and started her diploma studies at the State School for Music Odessa (Prof. L. Ginsburg). In 1995, she finsished her artistic graduation and concert exam with summa cum laude. Further master courses were taken in the Ukraine and in Russia.

Beside extensive teaching in the Ukraine and Germany she performed concerts as a chamber musician in Germany, Denmark, France, Belgim, the Netherlands, the Ukraine and Switzerland.

As a member of the Duo Kalinowsky she tried to keep forgotten music in memory. Furthermore, she made the well-known music sound unusual. Today another main focus lays on the Duo´s teamwork with several solo singers. The teamwork was encouraged by many new repertoire discoveries. Bella Kalinowska even took part to enrich the chamber music repertoire with new works by working together with renowned music publishing houses as an editor and arranger.
